Who we are
Lindsey
Executive Director
Lindsey (she/her) joined The Teen Center in 2021 and hopes to stay for a long time. Her previous work includes managing a group home for the Counseling Service of Addison County and coordinating staffing for an emergency family violence shelter located in Northampton, MA. A graduate of Mount Holyoke College, Lindsey has not worked a single day in her major field of study, but still managed to pay off her student loans a decade after receiving her diploma. Raised by a single mom on welfare during the Reagan administration, Lindsey believes young people acquire confidence and competence through experiences that are unattainable to many families. She hopes she can leverage her role as Director to help all local teens grow into their best selves. In her free time Lindsey likes to sing weird songs to her two dogs, Rhoda and Manny, read depressing murder mystery novels, and send cat memes to friends far and wide.
anna
2024 Summer Intern
Anna (she/her) is the Teen Center’s current summer intern for 2024 and is super excited to join for the summer! She is a rising senior feb at Middlebury College from Northborough, Massachusetts and is studying psychology and disability justice. Anna loves to do anything to keep busy, whether that be pottery, freestyle cooking à la Chopped, attempting to focus long enough to read a book, running to a nearby swimming hole, or coloring. She adds an energetic presence to the space and has prior experience with teens through working at a child/teen therapy center in Massachusetts and participating in Middlebury’s Sib2Sib club.
Xander
Program Coordinator
Xander (he/him) is an MUHS graduate and former Teen Center teen. He describes himself as an “ex-delinquent, current gaymer, and all around funny man.” We describe Xander as a loyal friend, powerful advocate, and someone who hides his substantial empathy and ability behind sidesplittingly sardonic humor. Because his path through adolescence was rockier than most, Xander has cultivated an innate sense of fairness, self-awareness, and a strong moral compass. These traits will make him an increasingly strong role model for teens struggling with life’s various challenges. In his free time Xander likes to read exceptionally long books and spend time with his goofy and ridiculously photogenic cat, Rango.
Elio
Q&Q Group Facilitator
Elio (he/they) has served our local teens in various capacities over the years. Initially a summer intern through Middlebury College, Elio has become an indispensable member of The Teen Center community. As 2023 Pride Coordinator, Elio was able to take our initially small and quaint annual Middlebury Pride event and turn it into a huge celebration that brought our community together on behalf of our young, queer youth. Also in summer 2023, Elio stepped in as Interim Program Coordinator, giving our then Youth Interns a few more months of growth into their new roles. Currently, Elio leads our weekly Queer Group, helping local queer teens see that life as a queer adult can be filled with joy, community, and amazing hair. He has played a huge role in organizing our 2024 MiddPride. In his free time Elio likes to think deeply about the intersectionality of identity, politics, and community service, doodle on all available surfaces, and swim at many local watering holes.
Tyler (He/They)
Youth Outreach Coordinator/RCED/RC
Having worked in many different fields in the past, Tyler was happy to find a home in human services. When not recovery coaching at the Turning Point Center of Addison County Tyler can be found around the community, performing outreach alongside many other nonprofits. He is a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ crowd and strives to bring his authentic self to his work, running Queerly Beloved, a social and support group for the queer and trans community.
